For Students:
The GIANT game mat and resources provide an instant enterprising environment that can change at the throw of a GIANT die.
Students experience a fast paced, fully interactive programme that provides practical engagement and total accessibility for all participants.
By playing the game students learn to develop enterprising attitudes and personality traits on a practical level and through a hands-on business start-up simulation (that can also be adapted to any project in any subject). Effusion lets students grasp a tangible understanding of strategic and creative thinking, it's advantages and placement within the world of work.
Managing change, diversity, risk management, financial literacy, communication, presentation and influencing and negotiation are just some of the skills being introduced and developed throughout play.
A unique exposure to both 'knowledge based' and 'soft' skills has shown 'Effusion' to challenge the gifted and talented, inspire the disengaged and allow a stimulating environment for students with barriers to learning. Above all they'll love it!
For Teachers:
A comprehensive training manual and CD Rom containing resources for unlimited use, adaptation and customisation is included in the toolkit. The programme offers the perfect structure for teaching enterprise or embedding it into other curriculum subject areas, taking the students through ideas generation, planning, implementing and evaluation (4 stages of enterprise process). Enterprising skills are naturally enhanced and encouraged throughout play and all evaluation material is included in order to capture relevant data, and to help your students manage their own development going forward.
Although 'Effusion' offers fantastic scope for teachers to create and adapt the programme whichever way they wish, it is also as easy as picking up the 'quick play guide', as with any simple board game (only 100 times bigger!) You don't have to be a specialist in enterprise, in fact an older student or member of the local community could be invited to facilitate it for you.
