EnterpriseEd

EnterpriseEd is a business partnership that was formed in July 2005 by two very good friends and colleagues. This partnership evolved from a shared passion of entrepreneurship, equality, inclusivity and a general desire to make a real difference in the field of enterprise!

Jane Dawson has a rounded knowledge and experience base offering an excellent grounding for teaching and mentoring within the business sector. After running her own successful business she decided to go back into education achieving a BA Hon’s degree in Business Enterprise.

Since completing her studies she has had a varied career ranging from Business Manager at NatWest Bank through to advising, training and mentoring for Coventry & Warwickshire Business Link and the Women’s Business Development Agency. Her roles have also included project management and business development.

Jane has a passion for Social Enterprise and runs a community venture for children and their families in Coventry. She shares the Government vision for encouraging entrepreneurial attitudes among young people in particular, and has been active with the young Enterprise Scheme and Princes Trust.

“Through my work over recent years, I have become adaptable and flexible in my approach to the people I see. All are individuals with needs specific to them and I am always amazed at the determination and creativity buried deep within, often, timid exteriors. I have learned that turning over half a million in your first year isn’t necessarily the only definition of success, the best life changing enterprises I have been involved with have been the single mums or young unemployed people who gain independence, confidence and new found respect from getting out there and making it happen!”

Zoe Kennerdell hosts a vast range of knowledge and experience that has developed a creative and passionate commitment to the enterprise industry. A BA Hon’s degree in Marketing provided excellent foundations in the early years of her career by working with SME’s in driving strategic marketing thinking and subsequently business survival forward. Progression into consultancy work enabled Zoe to work on projects such as Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership, NIACE, LSC, Association of External Verifiers and Leasowe Women’s Centre.

Knowledge of actively recruiting under-represented groups in hard-to-reach areas accompanied by an understanding of a variety of appropriate marketing tools, techniques and strategies provided a perfect grounding for her career at The Women’s Business development Agency. Zoe has not only provided marketing and outreach services for the Agency but has also progressed onto “specialist marketing advise” and business counselling, currently undertaking her Sfedi accreditation.

As with so many women Zoe has advised, she has taken the plunge into self-employment and is now able to fulfil all number of her passions, including business mentoring, training, training development and outreach. In addition Zoe provides cost-effective marketing services to SME’s particularly targeting; Social Enterprises, Non-profit making organisations and Charities with the objectives of giving them the best possible start into enterprise.

“I have found business enterprise one of the most rewarding and inspiring sectors I have ever worked in. Following a client’s progression from confidence building, to business plan development, to an enterprise launch provides the most unique job satisfaction possible. Every client is different – as is every business and as they evolve and grow, so does my knowledge, expertise and commitment. I strongly believe in giving those who feel they are less likely to succeed the opportunity and support to become the flourishing entrepreneurs they have all the potential to be.”
